Unlike a resume, I want to present my career as a story starting from the beginning. Here we go...

For more than 25 years, I have worked with both legacy and emerging technologies in the Communications and Banking & Financial Services (BFS) industries; and 10+ of those years have been as a management consultant. Over the course of my career, I have been fortunate to face a wide variety of challenges, which enabled me to develop a unique blend of domain expertise, business process knowledge, technology depth, and architectural analysis skills.

I began my career as a software engineer for a defense contractor in India. I then joined a manufacturer in Thailand as an industrial engineer, leading automation and business process reengineering efforts to improve invoicing and order processing functions.

My next role took me to Australia where I served as project manager, senior signaling engineer, and R&D engineer for the country’s largest telecom service provider. HP recruited me from Telstra to work as a solutions consultant and product quality coordinator and to leverage my skills and relationships from Telstra for HP’s  new software R&D unit, a joint venture with Telstra.

In 1997, I relocated to the U.S. to join Alcatel as a product line manager. In only 2 years, I defined a new business strategy for Network Management products, closed deals valued at up to $10M, evaluated potential acquisitions, revised pricing and simplified license contract agreements, established vendor partnerships, and developed a marketing campaign.

In 2000, I recognized a market opportunity in the QoS software solutions space. In response, I founded Creaton Corp. and led fund raising, product development, and business development efforts, resulting in the sale of the company in 2001.

I then joined Mahindra Satyam (formerly Tech Mahindra) as VP of Marketing. Over the next 6 years, I grew the contract R&D business in the telecom equipment manufacturer market segment and diversified the client base to include telecom service providers and enable future growth.

In 2007, Cognizant hired me as the Practice Lead of the IP and Mobile Services group to capture growing opportunities in the IP and multimedia services segment. I energized the existing center of excellence team to conceive innovative applications and frameworks, culminating in a field trial with a world leader in credit card and travel services.

Since earning a promotion to Consulting Director in the Banking and Financial Services practice, I led and delivered on consulting engagements, focusing on mobile banking and payments, payment and collection risks, integrated risk management, and business/ technology transformation solutions. My expertise in C2C, C2B, B2B, B2C payment processing spans card member acquisition and servicing, transaction acquisition and processing, loyalty and rewards, billing, invoicing, incentives, reconciliation and settlements related business processes, related regulations, solution architectures and commercial products. 

I have specialized expertise in mobile banking and payments, related commercial products and open source tools such as Kony, Pyxis, Titanium, etc. as well as channel integration and optimization across traditional and emerging channels. In addition I am also experienced in payment risks and integrated risk management.  I am familiar with several front/ middle/ back office systems in these areas and commercial products such as Oracle RMB, SunTech, SAP Service to Cash, Flexcube, Fundtech, ACI, Clear2Pay, SmartStream, Intellimatch, IBM OpenPages, Cognos/ TI, SAP GRC, BusinessObjects, MetricStream, and others.

​Then I continued my journey into emerging payments and digital banking as a Consulting Partner at Wipro. I am developing more experience in emerging themes - automation (robotic and cognitive), machine learning, data science, blockchain, and wallets. I am conversant with automation products such as Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Workfusion, IBM Watson, and Wipro Holmes among others.

I have lived in 4 countries on 3 continents and bring a truly global perspective to the workplace. When not at work, I am an ardent yoga practitioner, and holistic wellness is my passion. I published my first book, Breathe Your Way to Success: The Plasma Personality, in 2006.
